Here’s everything Samsung shared at its Unpacked 2020 event

Samsung’s 2020 Unpacked

On August 5, Samsung held an online-only Unpacked event, announcing its latest gadgets, plus a surprise for gamers. Despite several leaks, including a last-minute one revealing the entire Unpacked lineup, Samsung still had a lot to share with gadget enthusiasts at this year’s event.

The company made official reveals of its Galaxy Note 20 and 20 Ultra, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus, as well as the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds. Not much was revealed about the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 2, as Samsung is saving everything for the Fold 2 event coming up on September 1, but even so, the company had plenty to share with fans.

If you missed the event, we rounded up the highlights for you below:

New year, new gear

Just like Samsung accustomed us with its Note line, the new Note 20 and 20 Ultra are all about big screens and powerful processors. The Note 20 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset, a 2400×1080 at 60Hz resolution and refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

Its more powerful version, the Note 20 Ultra, comes with the same Snapdragon 865+ chipset, but has a 6.9-inch AMOLED 2X display at 120Hz refresh rate. Note 20 Ultra is also Samsung’s first device to come with an ultra-wideband radio for short data transmission.

Samsung designed its Tab S7 and S7 Plus to combine the power of a computer, with the flexibility of a tablet and the connectivity of a smartphone, aiming to create the perfect device companion. The two devices will be the first tablets in the US to support 5g technology, and both share Note 20’s Snapdragon 865+ processor. Samsung also built a better keyboard so that both tablets can compete with PCs.

Samsung did not reveal much about the Z Fold 2 but did share that the primary screen is 7.6-inches and the phone has a 4,500 mAh battery. We are patiently waiting for the September event to discover more of its features.

Mystic Gold to go with your accessories as well

All devices come in three colors: mystic white, mystic black, and, the star of the event, mystic gold. Even the new Galaxy Watch 3 spots the same color choices, and we have to say it looks quite good. The device comes with improved and new health features, including a sleep tracker and an ECG, which just earned FDA authorization, so we can expect it to be available in the US pretty soon.

The Galaxy Buds Live, which were leaked several times before the event, feature an open-type design and active noise cancellation, packed in an interesting bean shape design.

Xbox Games Pass Bundle

Samsung has some good news for those of you, avid gamers, as well. Both the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra work as a computer and play just like a gaming console, and to emphasize this, Samsung partnered up with Microsoft to offer fans an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Bundle.

The bundle includes Power A’s MPGA XP5-X+ Bluetooth controller, as well as a clip that attaches to the controller, to hold your phone in place. On top of this, Samsung also throws in three months of Game Pass Ultimate. To get this, you need to preorder the Note 20, and you will get a $150 Samsung Credit to use towards the bundle.
