Yesterday, TikTok For Business was officially launched, aiming to provide brands with a new platform where they can promote their products and services. TikTok has been gaining momentum since it was first released in 2016, and today has over 800 million active users worldwide.

If hearing all your friends talking about the app and all the fun challenges it has wasn’t enough to realize just how popular it is, the fact that the company invested in a new product is the confirmation of how well things are going for its app.

The new brand and platform will be the home of the company’s current and future marketing solutions for businesses. In the announcement statement, the company revealed that its new platform would provide brands and retailers with new tools to creatively engage with users and promote their products to the TikTok community through storytelling.

In fact, the company says that brands that have found success with its app did it by resonating with the TikTok community by creatively engaging and connecting with users with feelings, actions, and sounds.

TikTok’s new ad formats

The new product that TikTok just announced will include access to the company’s ad formats, including TopView, which is an ad that appears at the top when you first open the TikTok app. Other products that the TikTok For Business will include are Brand Takeovers, In-Feed Videos, Hashtag Challenges, and Branded Effects.

The Brand Takeovers are the 3-5 second ads that can be displayed in the form of a video or image. As for the In-Feed Videos, they can be up to 60 seconds long and run with sound. The Hashtag Challenges will allow brands to engage with TikTok’s community by inviting users to create content with a particular hashtag they choose in mind. The new tool Branded Effects will enable brands to create content that is more engaging and creates an experience for users as it allows content to be in the form of a 2D,3D, or AR video.

The company already offered most of the marketing products, yet, the new AR effect is definitely something innovative. In fact, Digiday had already scooped the company’s AR ad plans in the past, focusing on how they would be a direct challenge to Snapchat’s Sponsored Lenses and Word Lenses AR formats. But what makes us so excited about TikTok’s new product is that all marketing tools will be under one roof, under TikTok For Business.

New learning center for marketers

The company also revealed that it would release a new e-learning center to help marketers learn more about its app’s new ad offerings and the marketing opportunities that lie underneath them. The e-learning center will provide marketers with product guides, resources, and creative best practices to help them create effective campaigns and learn about the new Branded Effects Partner Program.

It’s no doubt that TikTok For Business opens a new window for marketers to create content that genuinely engages and speaks to people by inviting users to join in the conversation and also to create TikToks.
